Oil & Gas Drone Inspection Services in Texas
FAA-certified UAV inspections for pipelines, flare stacks, tank farms, compressor stations, and midstream infrastructure — safer, faster, and more cost-effective than traditional methods.
Safer Inspections. Better Data. Lower Risk.
Inspecting oil and gas infrastructure traditionally means putting personnel in hazardous environments — climbing flare stacks, entering confined spaces, or working near pressurized equipment. Drones eliminate that exposure entirely. Our UAVs access the same vantage points without the safety risk, and they do it faster.
Airspan Solutions operates under FAA Part 107 commercial certification and carries full liability insurance. Our pilots have extensive experience working on active upstream, midstream, and downstream facilities across Texas. We coordinate directly with your HSE team and follow your site safety protocols on every job.
From a single flare stack inspection to a multi-day pipeline corridor survey, we deliver georeferenced imagery, thermal anomaly reports, and 4K video documentation in the formats your engineering and operations teams need to make decisions.
Oil & Gas Drone Inspection Services
Comprehensive UAV inspection capabilities for upstream, midstream, and downstream operations across Texas.
Pipeline Corridor Surveys
Aerial inspection of pipeline rights-of-way for encroachments, erosion, third-party activity, and visible corrosion. Georeferenced imagery and GPS-tagged anomaly reports delivered for GIS integration.
Flare Stack & Elevated Structure Inspections
Close-proximity UAV inspection of flare stacks, towers, and elevated structures without scaffolding or rope access. High-resolution imagery and 4K video of welds, coatings, and structural components.
Tank Farm & Storage Vessel Documentation
Aerial inspection and documentation of above-ground storage tanks, floating roofs, secondary containment, and tank farm layouts. Identify coating failures, structural issues, and compliance concerns from above.
Aerial Gas Leak Detection
Optical gas imaging (OGI) drone surveys for methane and VOC leak detection across wellpads, compressor stations, and processing facilities. Faster coverage than ground-based LDAR with GPS-tagged findings.
Thermal Imaging Inspections
FLIR-equipped UAV thermal surveys of electrical equipment, heat exchangers, insulation, and process piping. Identify hot spots, insulation voids, and thermal anomalies before they become failures.
Facility & Site Documentation
Comprehensive aerial photography and photogrammetry of upstream, midstream, and downstream facilities. Orthomosaic maps, 3D models, and progress documentation for engineering, permitting, and operations.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can drones replace traditional rope access or scaffolding inspections?
For visual inspection of external surfaces — coatings, welds, structural components, and general condition assessments — drones can replace or significantly supplement rope access and scaffolding. They provide comparable image quality at a fraction of the cost and without the safety risk. For inspections requiring physical contact or sampling, drones are used as a first-pass screening tool to prioritize where hands-on work is needed.
What gas leak detection capabilities do you offer?
We operate optical gas imaging (OGI) payloads capable of detecting methane, VOCs, and other hydrocarbon gases. Our aerial LDAR surveys cover wellpads, compressor stations, and processing facilities faster than ground-based methods, with GPS-tagged findings and video documentation of each detected emission source.
How do you handle safety requirements on active oil and gas facilities?
We coordinate directly with your HSE team before every job. Our pilots complete site-specific safety orientations, follow your facility's hot work and drone operation procedures, and carry full liability insurance with certificates available to your operator or facility owner. We have extensive experience working on active upstream and midstream sites across Texas.
What deliverables do you provide after an inspection?
Standard deliverables include 4K video of the inspection, high-resolution still imagery, a GPS-tagged anomaly report with annotated findings, and a summary report in PDF format. For pipeline surveys we provide georeferenced orthomosaic maps and KML/shapefile exports for GIS integration. Thermal inspections include annotated thermal imagery with temperature data.
Can you fly in restricted airspace near refineries or industrial facilities?
Yes. We handle all FAA airspace authorization in-house. Many Texas refineries and industrial facilities are located in or near controlled airspace — we secure the necessary authorizations before the flight date. For facilities with internal no-fly policies or security requirements, we work with your operations team to establish an approved flight plan.
