Aerial Survey & Drone Mapping Services in Texas
Survey-grade topographic data, orthomosaic maps, and 3D models delivered faster and at lower cost than traditional ground survey methods — with GIS-ready outputs your engineering team can use immediately.
Survey-Grade Data from Above
Traditional ground surveys are time-consuming, labor-intensive, and difficult to execute on large or inaccessible sites. Drone-based aerial surveys cover the same ground in a fraction of the time, producing georeferenced datasets that meet or exceed the accuracy requirements of most civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure applications.
Airspan Solutions operates under FAA Part 107 commercial certification and carries full liability insurance. Our survey-grade workflows use ground control points (GCPs) and real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning to achieve horizontal and vertical accuracies within 1–3 centimeters — suitable for engineering design, quantity calculations, and regulatory submissions.
We deliver in the formats your team already uses: GeoTIFF orthomosaics, LAS/LAZ point clouds, DXF contours, ASCII DEMs, and KML/shapefiles for GIS. No proprietary formats, no extra conversion steps — just clean, accurate data ready for your workflow.
Aerial Survey & Mapping Services
From single-parcel topographic surveys to multi-day corridor mapping programs, we cover every aerial survey need.
Topographic Survey & Mapping
High-accuracy topographic surveys for civil engineering, land development, and site planning. Deliverables include georeferenced orthomosaics, digital elevation models, and contour maps at user-specified intervals.
Orthomosaic & 2D Mapping
Centimeter-resolution orthomosaic maps stitched from hundreds of overlapping aerial images. Georeferenced and scaled for direct use in CAD, GIS, and project management platforms.
3D Point Cloud & Surface Modeling
Dense point clouds and digital surface models generated via photogrammetry. Suitable for volumetric analysis, terrain modeling, BIM integration, and as-built documentation.
Corridor & Linear Feature Surveys
Efficient aerial surveys of pipelines, transmission lines, roads, railways, and drainage corridors. Cover miles of linear infrastructure in a single day with consistent resolution and georeferencing.
Volumetric & Stockpile Surveys
Accurate volume calculations for earthwork, aggregate stockpiles, landfills, and retention basins. Replace manual tape-and-rod surveys with drone-derived quantities your estimators can trust.
Change Detection & Progress Monitoring
Repeat surveys at defined intervals to quantify site changes over time. Compare current conditions against baseline or design surfaces to track earthwork progress and identify discrepancies.

Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate are drone aerial surveys compared to traditional ground surveys?
With properly placed ground control points (GCPs) and RTK positioning, drone photogrammetry achieves horizontal and vertical accuracies within 1–3 centimeters. This meets or exceeds the accuracy requirements for most civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure applications. For projects requiring higher accuracy or legal boundary surveys, we recommend pairing drone data with traditional survey control.
What file formats do you deliver for engineering and GIS use?
We deliver GeoTIFF orthomosaics, LAS/LAZ point clouds, digital elevation models as GeoTIFF or ASCII grid, DXF contour lines for CAD integration, and KML/shapefile exports for GIS platforms. Volumetric reports are delivered as PDF. We can accommodate additional format requests for specific software workflows.
How large an area can you survey in a single day?
Coverage depends on the required ground sample distance (GSD) and accuracy tier. For standard engineering-grade surveys at 2–3 cm GSD, a single UAV can cover 500–1,500 acres per day depending on terrain and airspace constraints. For corridor surveys, we routinely cover 10–20 linear miles per day. We'll assess your site and scope a flight program accordingly.
Can you survey sites in remote or difficult-to-access areas?
Yes. Drone surveys are particularly well-suited to remote, rugged, or hazardous terrain where ground crews face access challenges — steep slopes, active construction zones, wetlands, and private land with limited access points. As long as we can establish a safe launch and recovery area, we can survey the site.
Do you handle airspace authorization for survey sites near airports?
Yes. We handle all FAA airspace authorization in-house through the LAANC system. Many Texas survey sites — particularly in the Dallas, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio metros — fall within controlled airspace. We secure authorization before the flight date so there are no delays on survey day.
