Drone Photogrammetry & 3D Mapping Services

Survey-grade aerial mapping for construction, land development, mining, and infrastructure projects across Texas. We deliver orthomosaic maps, point clouds, digital elevation models, and volumetric reports your engineering team can use immediately.

What Is Drone Photogrammetry?

Drone photogrammetry is the science of extracting precise measurements and 3D spatial data from overlapping aerial photographs captured by UAVs. By analyzing hundreds or thousands of images taken from multiple angles, photogrammetry software reconstructs accurate 2D maps and 3D models of the surveyed area.

Unlike traditional ground survey methods, drone photogrammetry covers large areas rapidly — often hundreds of acres in a single flight — while producing data with centimeter-level accuracy when combined with ground control points or RTK/PPK positioning.

The result is a suite of engineering-grade deliverables: georeferenced orthomosaic maps, dense point clouds, digital terrain models, and volumetric reports — all ready for import into AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and BIM platforms.

Data Deliverables

Every photogrammetry project includes a full suite of processed outputs ready for engineering review, GIS analysis, and project documentation.

Orthomosaic Maps

Geometrically corrected, georeferenced aerial maps stitched from hundreds of overlapping images. Accurate to sub-centimeter resolution with ground control points.

Digital Elevation Models (DEM)

DTM and DSM surfaces derived from dense point clouds — used for grading analysis, cut/fill calculations, floodplain modeling, and terrain visualization.

3D Point Clouds & Mesh Models

Dense photogrammetric point clouds and textured 3D mesh models compatible with AutoCAD, Revit, ArcGIS, and major BIM platforms.

Volumetric Reports

Stockpile volume calculations and cut/fill reports for earthwork verification, material inventory, and progress billing — delivered in PDF and CSV formats.

Applications & Use Cases

Drone photogrammetry serves a wide range of industries where accurate spatial data drives better decisions and lower costs.

Construction Site Mapping

Track earthwork progress, verify grading, and produce as-built surveys throughout the construction lifecycle. Repeat flights create a time-stamped record of site evolution.

Land Development & Subdivision

Rapid topographic surveys for land planners, civil engineers, and developers. Replace traditional ground survey crews for large parcels at a fraction of the cost and time.

Mining & Aggregate Operations

Accurate stockpile volume measurements and pit surveys for quarries, sand & gravel operations, and mining sites across Texas.

Infrastructure & Corridor Mapping

Pipeline corridors, road alignments, utility easements, and transmission line routes mapped with survey-grade accuracy for engineering and environmental review.

Oil & Gas Facility Surveys

Aerial mapping of tank farms, compressor stations, and production facilities to support facility planning, expansion design, and regulatory documentation.

Environmental & Wetland Surveys

High-resolution aerial mapping for environmental impact assessments, wetland delineation, and habitat monitoring in support of permitting and compliance.

Survey-Grade Accuracy Standards

Our photogrammetry workflows are designed to meet the accuracy requirements of licensed engineers and surveyors. We follow rigorous GCP placement protocols and quality-control checks on every project.

  • Ground Sampling Distance (GSD) as low as 1 cm/pixel
  • Horizontal accuracy to ±2–3 cm with GCPs
  • Vertical accuracy to ±3–5 cm with GCPs
  • Compatible with RTK/PPK workflows for GCP-free surveys
  • Deliverables in EPSG-referenced coordinate systems
  • Processed with industry-standard photogrammetry software

Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is drone photogrammetry compared to traditional survey?

With properly placed ground control points (GCPs), drone photogrammetry achieves horizontal accuracy of ±2–3 cm and vertical accuracy of ±3–5 cm — comparable to traditional RTK GPS survey for most engineering and construction applications.

What file formats do you deliver?

We deliver orthomosaics as GeoTIFF, point clouds as LAS/LAZ, 3D models as OBJ/FBX, and elevation models as GeoTIFF or ASCII grid. Reports are provided in PDF and CSV. We can accommodate project-specific format requirements.

How large an area can you map in a single day?

Typical coverage is 200–500 acres per flight day depending on terrain, required GSD, and airspace constraints. Large corridor or multi-site projects are scoped individually with a multi-day mobilization plan.

Do you place ground control points (GCPs)?

Yes. Our crews can place and survey GCPs using RTK GPS equipment, or we can work with GCPs placed by your survey team. We also support PPK workflows that reduce or eliminate the need for GCPs on qualifying projects.

What is the typical turnaround time for processed deliverables?

Standard turnaround is 3–5 business days after data collection. Expedited 24–48 hour processing is available for time-sensitive projects at an additional fee.
